2005 Lotus Elise
Lotus Elise (S2)
Lotus has always focused on building lightweight, nimble sports cars. Collin Chapman (Lotus's Founder) famously said that his philosophy to building cars was to "Simplify, then add Lightness". 2005 marked the year that Lotus returned to the USA, and they did not disappoint. The S2 generation Lotus Elise was one of the lightest cars on the road, tipping the scales at a hair under 2000 pounds. Replacing the less-than-reliable 1.8L Rover inline 4 engine was the 1.8L Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine from the Toyota Celica GT-S, both solving the reliability issues and increasing power over 60% from 118 horsepower to 190 horsepower

The color on this Elise is not only eye-catching, it's also quite rare, with less than 2 percent of Elises built in 2005 painted like this car in Krypton Green. The interior is spartan, though the "Luxury Package" this car was ordered with added extra sound deadening, floor mats, power windows, and a stereo. This particular car frequents local car meets, so make sure to be on the lookout for it next time you're at
