Pontiac Firebird 400

The Firebird 400 produced a healthy 330 horsepower and mind boggling 430 foot-pounds of torque, creating snappy acceleration for a car this big. While many enthusiasts are quick to name the iconic Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro when asked about iconic 60s muscle cars, the Firebird definitely shouldn't be overlooked. Nicknamed the "Screaming Chicken", the firebird made good power and was easily modifiable to get even more performance out of the car.

The 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 we have on display checks all the boxes for a classic muscle car, including a 4-speed manual gearbox, a 400 cubic-inch carbureted V8, a beautiful two-tone paint with a vinyl roof, and a "Positraction" rear end. Sitting on the hood in front of the driver was the optional hood-mounted tachometer, meaning that the driver could focus on the road in front of them and still shift at the optimal rpm. This unique car was a real competitor to the ultra-famous Camaro and Mustang of its era.
